This weeks episode was big moment after big moment — and I was loving every moment of it!
General Impressions
Picking up right where things left off last week, I felt a little letdown after seeing how quickly Siegs and Mordreds fight came to an end. Seeing how you had two heroic spirits duking it out, I was really hoping for some more actual fighting rather than a giant lightsaber battle. As a small consolation, Ill admit that watching Mordred beat the crap out of a weakened Sieg was pretty satisfying. Not because of any dislike for any of the characters, but just for the mere fact that Mordred couldnt care less about her current state and simply wants to destroy Sieg.
That said, its not like things werent exciting this episode. Following the quick end of Sieg and Mordreds confrontation, we got to see just how disgusting Spartacus could be. And dont get me wrong, when I say disgusting I mean it in both the literal (gross) and the descriptive (holy cow what power) sense. Seeing how his Noble Phantasm was an augment to his body rather than some kind of powerful move, it was rather fitting that someone who loved to take damage would take that characteristic and utilize it to its fullest potential. Thinking back to how he took a huge attack (and survived) from Atlantas Noble Phantasm, I kind of wished they showed us the entire scene of Spartacus transforming into that giant blob of rebellion.
Shifting gears to the story itself, boy has it been a while since weve seen the plot move forward. At the heart of it all, all the players are fighting for the Greater Holy Grail and its nice to see that were almost to the point where the Grail itself will show itself. While Im a little curious about why its so damn big, its appearance should mean that the battle is about to reach an apex. However, with everything being a little off in this Greater Holy Grail War, its probably not too crazy to assume that something out of the ordinary will probably happen before we get to see the actual grail.
Overall, another pretty good episode that set up a lot of things. With both Team Red and Team Black ready to rip each others throats out and Sieg a very safe distance away from everything, I cant wait to see just what happens next week. If I had to pick one thing that I want to see most though, itd have to be Vlad getting forced to use his Noble Phantasm. Something tells me itll be related to the vampire part of his history and boy do I love it when we get to see Vlad angry. Anyways, Ill catch you guys next week — see you then!

Its based on the concept of homonculi acting as conduits. If Illya can act as a conduit for a holy grail due to her heart, then Sieg can act as a conduit for Siegfried by having his literal heart. Because Siegfried is now a heroic spirit, Sieg gets quasi command spells which enforce his will over Siegfried’s manifested form. However, Sieg is just a mass produced homonculi unlike super special Illya; so his projection capacity is limited to a short timer before his body gives out.This also operates along the same premise of Shirou containing Avalon within him. Just as Shirou can tap into Avalon, Sieg can tap into Siegfried’s noble phantasm. Nobody is really aware of this in the setting because none of the characters are familiar with the specifics of the latest Fuyuki Holy Grail War.The real question is why do I have to explain this to anybody who claims to have watched the other Fate anime before.

Seigfried since CM3 is called a guy who could probably beat Arthuria.Even Mordred says she can’t let Seig live to transform a second time, otherwise she won’t stand a chance like this again.She couldn’t even hurt him without a command seal. Which the anime really didn’t show that well.

Yeah, its not a full possesion like Shirou Kotomine stated, its more like the kind fusion Yuji Sakai and the Snake of the Festival had in Shakugan no Shana, Sieg is the conduit for Siegfried but its like Siehgfried is doing all the fighting.
Something to note here: that’s still Seig. It’s Seigfrieds body, but Seig is in control.

They’ve completely changed the first Sieg and Jeanne meeting, by replacing it by an an anime original episode (episode 5).After its first meeting, Sieg and Jeanne are going to live together at the old man’s home in the LN, in the anime they decided to keep them separate. All the romance scenes between Sieg and Jeanne of the vol. 2 has been cut from the anime.

She’s got next to no attack, she focuses purely on defense, she has EX rank magic resistance because it was summoned in special class “Ruler”, and her only real strength is the ”Command Spells” to control the servants tha she received by being summoned in special class “Ruler”.
Her swordmanship and ability is rather mediocre in servant standart but she has EX magic resistance so even ultra powerful magic barely hurts her.To put it in game terms: Jeanne makes a great Tank but she’s mostly useless otherwise.

Sieg only lost here because there was a slight hesitation on his part. This is his first real fight and all. Otherwise, he got EVERYTHING Siegfried had.
