Battery is definitely a case of gratification deferred at the moment.

So - I went to a baseball anime and a baseball game broke out...

「強豪校への挑戦」 (Kyougou-kou e no Chousen)
"Challenge to the Powerhouse School"

Truth be told, I was a bit disappointed with Battery this week.

「密室の出来事」 (Misshitsu no Dekigoto)
"Behind Closed Doors"

Well, after five episodes it's now pretty clear what Battery is.

「グラウンドに立つ」 (Guraundo ni Tatsu)
"Standing Ground"

Of course it's a shame pretty much nobody is talking about Battery, but it's not all all unexpected.

「いさかい」 (Isakai)
"Dispute"

Considering this episode didn't feature who I felt was the strongest character of the first two episodes, it was remarkably successful in moving the story forward.

"The Banks of the Pond"

It's probably no exaggeration to say Battery isn't a series that's going to play to the masses.
