No Game No Life – 10

(Shikou-hou “Buruu Rouzu”)
"Blue Rose"

Mostly funny, mostly silly, this episode was roundly hilarious while still elaborating on character back stories and delivering us to the stage of Kuuhaku's biggest victory yet. Hopefully.

No Game No Life – 09

(Kairi-hou “Sukai uouku”)
"Sky Walk"

I was so scared. A life rendered colorless, without meaning, without worth--and then suddenly, it returns. Because they believed. Because they understood. Because they trusted each other more than anyone in the entire world. And Kuuhaku--!

No Game No Life – 08

(Kishikaisei “Feiku Endo”)
"Fake End"

A tour de force of mind games, games theory, and betting it all for a chance to beat the world, punctuated with one of the most effectively unsettling endings to any episode this season. I still don't feel like I can take a full breath, lest the world shatters.

No Game No Life – 06

(Itte “Intaresutingu”)
"Interesting"

It feels increasingly rare to find a show that starts strong, and then continues strong. No Game No Life's latest episode proves that it's not doing that - it's getting better.

No Game No Life – 05

(Koma Narabe “Uiikusukuea”)
"Weak Square"

The seamless integration of comedy, fanservice, and plot. You could be forgiven for thinking this episode was all for fun, until near the end when its absolutely vital themes became clear.
