RAINBOW: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin – 26 (END)

Over the rainbow

It was pretty ambitious of the writers to slip in one more arc for Mario and go from start to finish in a mere episode, but they managed to pull it off and wrap up the second of four major manga arcs with this adaptation.

Independence

Wow, I never thought I'd see the day where episodes of RAINBOW go smoothly two weeks in a row. Given how the series started six months ago, I've been approaching each arc like a complete cynic and expecting the worse from every new face encountered.

Desperate

If there's one thing that this episode emphasized, it's that one may never truly comprehend an encounter until several years later.

Chance

What I thought was going to be an arc about Suppon's illness doubled up as one about Lily as well. It was unexpected but not a bad thing whatsoever, as it draws upon their past together and how Lily got Suppon the black market job he's been getting by on all this time.

Emergence

While Baremoto didn't fully redeem himself in the conclusion of his mini arc, at least he came to his senses and made strides towards doing so. However, the most relieving thing was this episode wasn't nearly as aggravating to watch now that everyone knows how foolish Baremoto's been.

Blinded

Out of all the guys, Baremoto is unquestionably the one I have the most gripes with. I would've thought that the fire incident back in Shonan was enough to turn his character around, but someone still has to teach him "bros before hoes" it seems. Literally.

Vocation

After twenty weeks of K-ON and RAINBOW on Tuesdays, the two series are having an identity crisis all of a sudden. K-ON brought the emotion-filled tears with its take on the school festival, while RAINBOW brought the laughs with Kyabetsu's search for a job that suits him. What the heck!?

Reunion

It turns out I gave Yamauchi a bit too much credit, even though she did call the Fukumoto Gang to deal with Tsubouchi and the Five Lemons.

Unbreakable

It looks like being exploited for sex isn't so bad this time around, as Joe's new manager Yamauchi Naoko and her ties with the Fukumoto Gang actually worked in his favor.

Parting

I got more than I bargained for this episode after asking to see more of Meg for the past while. This episode only served as a setup towards her reintroduction next time, but proved to be a pretty pivotal moment in the series as a whole with the notable direction change.
