UN-GO – 10

(Kaishō Rinroku no Sōsō)
"Rinroku Kaisho's Funeral"

It’s a shame more people aren’t watching UN-GO, because it’s delivering some of the smartest and most interesting non-commercial anime in ages.

UN-GO – 09

(Kaishō Rinroku no Hanzai)
"Kaishou Rinroku's Crime"

With only two episodes remaining after this one and so many unanswered questions hanging over things, it seems very likely that this is the arc that will take us to the end of the series. If so, they’ve chosen to go out with what looks to be a good mystery.

UN-GO – 08

(Rakuen no Ō)
"The King of Paradise"

If you have the time, it’d certainly be an interesting experience to re-watch episode 7 in light of everything we were told today.

UN-GO – 07

(Hakuchiyuumu)
"Daydream"

I think that it’s only when we see an anime adapted from a thoroughly atypical source material, as UN-GO is, that we realize just how limited our expectations are when we watch so many derived from the obvious sources.

UN-GO – 06

(Amarini Mo Kantan na Angō)
"The Code Too Simple"

I ended last week’s post by wondering what the results of the first anime-original episode of UN-GO would be like. We have our answer – absolutely bloody brilliant.

UN-GO – 04

(Sugao no Ie)
"House, Unmasked"

Now that was more like it. Building on the strong first half last week, UN-GO delivered a conclusion to its first two-parter that was exactly what I hoped this show would be – smart, funny, dark and extremely interesting.

UN-GO – 03

(Fukumen Yashiki)
"Masked Mansion"

Based on the last two cases, in terms of pure mysteries I’m beginning to suspect that UN-GO is a cut above the likes of Gosick, Kami-Memo and Dantalian.
